Black Box Modeling: System Identification for Variable Speed Controls in Thermal Management System

During extreme temperature testing in Death Valley, the need for variable speed control of the compressor and condenser fan to ensure reliable performance of the Thermal Management System was identified. With the thermal expansion valve being self-regulating, I used system identification techniques to develop a black-box model of the system. This enabled me to derive the PID coefficients for precise and efficient component control under varying thermal conditions.
